What is Reiki? Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing method which was re-discovered in the 18th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. The meaning of the word Reiki broken down Is Rei – which means Universal and KI – which means Life Force Energy. So together Reiki means “Universal Life Force Energy”. This energy flows through every living creature. Reiki is for everybody and it is a guided gentle energy which can balance the energies of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels of the body. It can ease pain, stress, headaches and fatigue and the list just goes on and on. It can also be used on animals, plants, and objects as well as situations.
A Reiki session generally lasts about 1 hour and is done fully clothed on a massage table with low lighting, candles, soft music and aromatherapy (using pure essential oils) in a quiet environment which allows for deep relaxation and calmness of the mind and body to just let go and to allow the energy to flow where it is needed for your highest good so your body can use its own natural healing abilities. It compliments Western Medicine but does NOT replace it.
I also offer distant Reiki which can be sent to anyone all over the world and you would receive the same benefits as if you were on my table. Reiki can also be done while sitting in a chair if you are unable to lay down on the table. I can also arrange for home visits for those who are unable to travel but would like to have an in person session.
